I like the G26 because my G19 and G17/34 mags work in it too. I'm retired so I don't need any magazines. G26 also buys a 33-period "Happiness" magazine. The G43 does not.

Glock 26 Gen 5 Problems
To me it's like...27 transmission feels like a 2x4, 43 transmission feels like a 1x4.
Glock 26 Gen 4 Semi Auto Pistol
A very noticeable difference!! At least for me. Apply for 43, bring an extra magazine. Very easy to hide. When you can carry a larger one, go for the Glock 19.
My edc is my g27 loaded 165gr hst. G26 is also good. I love mine too.
I carry a G27 in cross drive at 10:30, with the outside sharpened, so it won't hurt me if the ND is there, G43 at 4:30 with extra mags. When I'm at church or dinner, I only have the G43
Ehrman said: Just a note about the "extra" mag - I always had one for possible misfeeds or spring problems... or whatever - not necessary for extra ammo. Click to expand... I'm a big fan of carrying an extra magazine, given the pistol's capacity. Mechanical failures occur. If it's in your holster, how do you get it back? As far as all fingers go, it's better to have too much than not enough. Once the bullets start flying, there's never enough.

Click to expand+... I have no problem connecting. My problem is that with or without the grip extension I can't get a good grip. Is it psychological? possibility My first 19 was a gen 4. Maybe I'm just used to the finger grooves.

I have both a G26 and a G43 and run it as an edc depending on what I'm wearing. In the summer I mostly have a G43 with +1 mag, so it becomes a 7+1 with an extra +1 mag. In the colder months I have a G26. I like them both and picture them both in the same way. However, it didn't start out that way. When I first shot my G43 I didn't do as well as my other guns and was disappointed with it, but after a few rounds I could shoot it as well or better than the G19 and G26. Having said that, let me say this. If I could only have one gun, it would be the G26. I have several pistols and the G26 is #1. If I were you and you could pass it, I'd keep your G43 and give you the G26 to add to your rotation. If you like the fingerless grip like the G43, I would wait and buy the G26 gen5. If the thumb groove works for you, you can't go wrong with the G26 gen4. Hope that helps a bit.
I've never shot a 43, but I have plenty of rounds through the 26. I can't imagine anything that competes with the smaller 26, but to each their own.
Is The Glock 26 The Best Carry Double Stack?
I am a fan of finger grooves. I've had a gen 3 G19 for homework for years, so when I saw pictures of the gen 5 I knew I'd have to consider it too.
You can always try a hog grip cover. I had it on my Gene 2 for a while, it gave me a thumb groove and rubber texture for comfort and grip. Thanks for your comment about the surgery. Good luck with your new Glock.

Glock Gen5 G26
For ccw. I personally like it, but I know it can be a bit overwhelming at times. So I guess if you're inside the belt, carrying the g43 will feel a lot better.
With all the aftermarket cards, expansions, etc., the capacity of the 43 can almost compete with the 26/27. Except for the hiccup mags of course...
So I think it comes down to this question. Which one do you shoot better? And which one is more comfortable to wear? Which also leads to the question of which one do you personally like better?
I carry my G-33 with a holster, mostly in my front pocket, because it sits nice and concealed. I have an AIWB holster if I want it. I don't have 43, but I always want more capacity

I like the Gen 4 26 with the Pearce handle extension that gives me room for the pinky and 13+1 capacity.
I just watched Sootch00's video on the Gen 5 Glock 26. Heck, now I have one.
